Anyone else play Idle Slayer? Any Hot Tips?

Been playing this game for a couple months now. It’s an idle game that has some slightly more involved activities like platforming bonus stages and I’ve read there are boss fights later on

Ive been playing for a few days and i feel completely stuck as i can't get any upgrades and it won't give me any new items to use, What should i do?
