Rayman Legends is a platformer video game developed and published by Ubisoft. It is the fifth main installment in the Rayman series and was released worldwide on February 26, 2013, for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo 3DS. A sequel to the 2011 game Rayman Origins, Legends is based on its predecessor's side-scrolling gameplay mechanics. The game features cooperative gameplay and introduces a new competitive multiplayer mode. Rayman Legends received critical acclaim upon release, with praise directed at its visuals, level design, soundtrack, and gameplay. The game won several awards, including "Best Platformer" and "Best Wii U Game" at the 2013 Game Critics Awards. It was also nominated for "Game of the Year" and "Best Multiplayer Game" at the 2013 D.I.C.E. Awards and won the latter award. The game sold well, becoming one of
