The popularity of these techniques has dramatically increased since they were used extensively by Matt Damon in action-packed fight scenes in the Jason Bourne films. Developed by Grandmaster Angel Cabales when he came to the U.S., Cabales Serrada Escrima is a distinct system emphasizing close-quarter combat using highly effective stick-fighting moves in unarmed as well as knife fighting situations. About the Author Mark V. Wiley is a writer, editor and publisher who has written for numerous martial arts and health publications. He has made numerous trips to the Philippines to research Filipino fighting arts and was certified as a master of Cabales Serrada Escrima by Grandmaster Angel Cabales in 1990. Darren G. Tibon is a Serrada Escrima Grandmaster and former student of Angel Cabales. An instructor of Serrada Escrima, he is a co-founder of the Angels Disciples Escrima Association in Stockton, California, which promotes the art of Serrada Escrima and the values of Angel Cabales.
