In it, the player takes control of Freddy Fazbear in a side-scrolling space shooter. The game is a play on the genre of games known as Metroidvania which are, for the most part, side scrolling platforming games with an emphasis on exploration, backtracking, and obtaining power-ups to progress. Weapon upgrades in this game appear as Chica's Cupcake.
